According to the details received Yousuf Maseeh resident of chak number 79 North Sargodha

URGENT

SWO is concerned about the rise in incidents of violence against members of minority Christian community in Punjab. Recently our organisation has received a number of complaints of violence by influential individuals from rural areas who are perpetrating violent activities without fear or apprehension of repercussions. We urge the authorities to take immediate action to curb and curtail the trend engulfing the interior Punjab in particular where the community is living under fear. Case Detail According to the details received Yousuf Maseeh resident of chak number 79 North Sargodha was on his way to feed his cattle on 21 September 2021 at around 3 PM. Already present there were three Christian men namely Robin son of Nazir Maseeh, Sufyan son of Nazir Maseeh and another unknown man. As soon as the victim Yousuf Maseeh reached the place he was ambushed and attacked by all three men he was brutally beaten mercilessly by the men who had no regards for the victim’s advance age. The brutalized him and beat the old man till he was left motionless and died on the spot. The murderer later fled the scene threatening the bystanders not to stop them or dare to intervene in the matter. The sheer audacity of their action was shocking to every one present at the scene of crime. According to victim’s son who is also the complainant in the FIR, the perpetrators and his father had a small scuffle over the perpetrators hitting Yousuf’s cattle. Vowing to seek revenge the three men left at that time. They later planned to murder Yousuf to appease their inflated and hurt ego. The victim’s son alleges that it was pre meditated murder and was nit accidental. On the day of the incidents the onlookers tried to save the old man from the perpetrators but it was too little too late Yousuf succumbed to his injuries and died before help could arrive. The horrific incident testifies to lack of tolerance within the society that shows no sign of abating. Though the perpetrator and victim belong to the same faith the brutality that they exhibited against an old man is heart wrenching and makes one question the existence and semblance of any humanity left in the heart of mankind.   SWO demands and urges the law enforcement agencies to apprehend the culprit and investigate the case from all angles to bring the perpetrators to book. An airtight case should be made against the murderer and they be given exemplary punishment so that no one can ever dare to repeat the act. CamScanner 09-30-2021 11.45 PLEASE SEND YOUR LETTERS TO: 1.
