Arooj-Fatima--story

I'm Arooj Fatima, daughter of Asghar Ali, resident of Model Town, Multan, I am writing this application to seek shelter and protection. I have two brothers. My elder brother, Mudassir Shehzad, son of Asghar Ali, is 22 years old and currently studying in the third year. My younger brother, Mubashir Faraz, son of Asghar Ali, is 15 years old and studying in the 9th grade. Both of my brothers are married.

After the death of my father, the environment of my home has become very distressing. My family was forcing me to marry my sister-in-law’s brother against my will. Since I did not like him, I decided to escape and reached Sargodha. Upon my arrival in Sargodha, the police took me into custody.

I want to marry a man named Nawazish Ali, son of Iqbal Ahmed, with whom I used to communicate over the phone. However, his family does not approve of our marriage.

The police brought me to Star Welfare Organization – Hawa Shelter Home for safety. I do not wish to return to my home as I fear for my life. Therefore, I request you to provide me with shelter and ensure my safety.

The Mysterious Disappearance of Arooj Fatima

On November 13, 2024, the family of Arooj Fatima filed an FIR at  Alpa Police Station, Multan. The report was lodged by Arooj’s maternal uncle, who stated that his 19-year-old niece, Arooj Fatima, was married but lived with him.

According to his statement, on November 10, 2024, he attended a wedding, leaving Arooj alone at home. However, when he returned on November 12, she was nowhere to be found. Despite their efforts to locate her, she remained missing. Concerned for her safety, they reported the matter to the police.

During the investigation, the police discovered that Arooj Fatima was staying at Star Welfare Organization Hawa Shelter Home. However, at the shelter, she had misled the authorities, claiming that she was unmarried and that her mother was her stepmother.

Meanwhile, Arooj’s family arrived at the shelter and presented evidence confirming that she was, in fact, married. They further revealed that she had left home with Rs. 70,000 in cash and three tolas of gold. After explaining the situation and providing all necessary proofs, they reconciled with Arooj.

Ultimately, Arooj Fatima agreed to return with her family of her own free will, bringing an end to the mysterious episode.
