Amber’s Story
Amber was born into a well-respected family in Hasan Khanwala, a small village in Bhakkar district. Her father, Amir Hasan Khan, and her family raised her with love and care. On June 6, 2021, she was married to Sardar Bakht Khan, the son of Azizullah Khan. Like any newlywed, she had dreams of a happy and peaceful married life. But soon after the wedding, those dreams began to shatter.
From the beginning, her husband’s behavior towards her was harsh. He would often mistreat her, scold her, and insult her without reason. However, the real torment came not just from him but also from his mother, Kaneez Fatima, a widow of Azizullah Khan. Kaneez Fatima would constantly interfere in Amber’s life, keeping a watchful eye on her every move. She would hurl abuses at her, belittle her, and create unnecessary restrictions, making Amber feel like a prisoner in her own home.
Amber was not even allowed to move freely within the house. If she sat in one place, she would be questioned about why she was sitting there. If she spoke to the house help, she would be accused of gossiping. Every little action of hers was scrutinized and reported to her husband as if she were committing crimes. At night, her mother-in-law would eavesdrop on her private conversations with her husband, always trying to create misunderstandings between them.
Things took a darker turn when Amber discovered her husband's infidelity. When she had to stay at her parents’ home for a few months after marriage, her husband had started affairs with other women. When she confronted him about the messages she found on his phone, he casually dismissed her concerns, saying, “Since you were not here, I considered myself single and made friends with other women.” His words cut deep, but she was forced to endure.
Recently, Amber gave birth to a baby girl. Instead of experiencing the joy of motherhood in peace, she was faced with yet another nightmare—her newborn daughter was taken away from her. Her husband and his family refused to let her keep the child. Despite the emotional and physical toll pregnancy had taken on her, she was left alone, broken, and desperate.
She no longer wanted to live with a man who had betrayed her, nor with a family that had made her life miserable. She feared for her sanity, knowing that if she continued to stay with them, they would destroy her completely. Now, her only plea is simple: she wants her daughter back.
She does not wish to remain in this toxic environment any longer. She does not want to live in fear. She only asks for justice—to be reunited with her ten-day-old baby and to be free from the people who have caused her so much pain.
